The safety and well‑being of everyone who uses Wonolo is always our priority. We are actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID‑19) situation and are taking steps to help keep our communities safe.
Steps we are taking
We have created an awareness badge to ensure our Wonoloer community understands symptoms of the virus and best practices for reducing the spread outlined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
[Update: As of 10/1/22, Wonolo will no longer be providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related absences or quarantines. We will still continue to assist Wonoloers to ensure that any Wonoloer diagnosed and forced to withdraw from a job late will not be penalized.]
Any Wonoloer who is diagnosed with coronavirus or is individually asked to self‑isolate by a public health authority may receive financial assistance for up to 10 days while their account is on hold.
Any Wonoloer feeling ill or having been in close contact with others feeling ill is able to withdraw from a job at any point without any penalty.

This blog post covers what Wonolo has already implemented in response to coronavirus, including the expansion of our paid Flex Time Off (FTO) program, excusing Late Withdrawals, and offering up to 10 days of Quarantine Pay to Wonoloers who are individually ordered to quarantine by a health or government official. We are actively monitoring the situation and will take additional measures as needed.

Apple also launched this screening tool to help you understand what to do next about COVID-19.
Please withdraw from jobs that may be affected by your illness and submit a support ticket noting you are ill. We will excuse most early or late withdrawals related to your illness or caring for loved ones.
Please note that no-shows will not be excused for any reason. In addition, if you are dismissed from a job for showing up sick, you may not be eligible for late cancellation pay.

If you are an active Wonoloer and get diagnosed with COVID-19 by a recognized public health authority due to your risk of spreading COVID-19, Wonolo may provide financial assistance for up to 10 days while your Wonolo account is on hold. This financial assistance will be based on your average daily earnings over the 30 days prior to the diagnosis date. In order to ensure we can provide support to those who need it the most, we'll provide financial assistance to you if any of the following happen:
1. You have been diagnosed with an active case of COVID-19; or
2. You were individually ordered to a mandatory self-quarantine by a recognized public health authority because you're suspected to have an active case of COVID-19; or
3. You were individually ordered to a mandatory self-quarantine by a recognized public health authority because you have pre-existing health conditions that put you at higher risk of serious illness due to COVID-19.
Wonolo reserves the right to approve or deny any claim for Quarantine Pay at their discretion.
The Healthy Workplace Hygiene Badge contains vital information from the Center for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) for identifying symptoms and reducing the spread of the coronavirus. To maximize the safety of you and the Wonolo community.
We created and shared this comprehensive resource page with all Requestors to share best practices for health and safety. We are also staying in close communication with all Requestors to quickly and appropriately respond to any confirmed or potential cases of COVID-19.
Gig Workers' Collective COVID-19 page provides helpful resources at both the national and state levels. They note that “many programs require a short application process, and it is key to do this now before the process is backlogged. You have some options if you're in need of food, help paying rent, your bills etc.”
Gig Workers Rising also has a page dedicated to coronavirus resources with tips on staying healthy depending on the kind of work you’re doing, plus how to best access medical care and applying for benefits.
