A Message From Our CEO, Yong Kim:
When we founded Wonolo in 2014, our mission was to democratize work and provide greater opportunity for frontline workers. From the beginning, our goal has always been to help unemployed and underemployed people find the right jobs for their unique situations and lives. Over the past four years we’ve remained focused on this goal, continually growing our presence in major markets across the country, and building a community of hundreds of thousands of Wonoloers and Requestors.
Today, we are excited to announce our growth continues with the opening of a second headquarters in Nashville, and a focus on Nashville as a new market for users on both sides of the marketplace.
We Found Our Second Home
When deciding where to establish our second headquarters, our team put Nashville at the top of the list. Nashville’s startup scene complements San Francisco’s, and the city offers a fun and exciting culture for our team to learn and grow. Nashville ranks as one of the top 10 cities in the US for entrepreneurs and startups, according to Business.org’s 2018 list. In 2017, U.S. News & World Report named the city one of the best places to live in America. With historic music venues, great museums, and unique cuisine, we’re confident our Nashville HQ will be a great place to thrive.
While Wonolo already has remote team members across the country, living in cities including New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles, the new office will serve as a second home-base to further establish our U.S. presence outside of San Francisco. Our office in Nashville enables us to expand our customer support across time zones, especially for those on the East Coast. We have already recruited some of the most innovative minds as part of the launch team in our Nashville office, and plan to double our headcount by the end of the year.

With the launch of this new market, we are thrilled to provide hard-working Tennesseans with job opportunities that are a great fit with their skills and schedules.
Nashville For Requestors
For our business, Nashville represents an exciting new market opportunity. Nashville is one of the top 20 light industrial markets; launching a market here provides Wonolo with access to a commerce-dense area with commercial need and some of the top working talent in the U.S. Brookings Institute research found Nashville has led job growth in several key industries.
The city is also rich with all of our typical Wonolo Requestor verticals, including retail, shipping and logistics, manufacturing, and e-commerce. According to a Colliers International report on emerging U.S. markets, logistics, delivery, and manufacturing are particularly prominent industries in Nashville. Major brands like Jack Daniel’s and FedEx call the city home. Additionally, Nashville is situated near multiple major interstate highways, and nearly half of the U.S. population lives within 650 miles, making the city a central hub for deliveries.
