Wonolo

Let’s meet Bradley!

Hi, my name is Bradley Spears, I am the manager of the Customer Success team at Wonolo and I am based out of Austin, Texas.

What was the first thing that caught your eye about Wonolo?

Good question. I would definitely say it’s a mix of the culture, the people, and how mission-driven the people are. The culture here is amazing. I noticed that through Linkedin posts, Glassdoor reviews, and even the way my interview process went. Everyone is mission-driven and big on getting the job done. At the same time, they don’t take themselves too seriously; that work-life balance. You could tell that echoed throughout the entire company. The fact that I can tell that through posts on Linkedin or the words through a review was rare and unique to me. I needed to be a part of that!

What was unique about your interview process at Wonolo compared to other jobs you interviewed for?

The question is, what wasn’t unique? You’re talking to someone whose job was affected by Covid. The interview process for me at the many different companies I applied for were very traditional, old school, long-winded, and uneventful. Whereas Wonolo took all of those complaints and flipped them on their head. I got to meet everyone in the company. There were a lot of questions asked, but I was kept informed every step of the way. It was almost fun to interview. And that’s not something that I normally say. I interviewed at a lot of places and it was truly an experience of its own just to go through the interview process at Wonolo. We have the Taos of Wonolo and the Tao interview was something that I remember fluidly because it was just so different. It was unique to get so many perspectives and opinions from people in different parts of the company. I wasn’t used to that. I already felt like I was part of the company just through the interview process, so that’s something that I’ll take with me for a while.

What made you decide to join Wonolo?

There were definitely a few different things. One I would say it was the interview process, like I mentioned, it was just so robust and you were able to see and hear so many different perspectives and opinions. There was an immediate alignment to me. It was such a culture fit, but also I felt like I was a culture add to the team and they were very receptive to what I have to offer. They were thorough with their feedback and that was the kind of company that I easily knew I wanted to work for. That helped me make the decision to move here concretely. Also the benefits. The responsibility that you’re entrusted with and the work-life balance you’re able to have to still do a good job here. I’m a dad and I get to have that time to be with my son. I perform to the best of my abilities, both professionally and personally, and it’s encouraged. I knew that not only did I want to join Wonolo, but that I wanted to stay here.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Well, those who know me know that I have a ton of hobbies. My first passion is for my son. He has high-functioning autism, so I do all of this for him. Being a dad is my world. Beyond that answer, I love 3D printing! I’m a 3D printing enthusiast. I also love cosplaying, which is where I get to build costumes and dress up. I enjoy writing, space, and biology. I’m actually a biology major. There are a lot of different things that I’m passionate about. Many of them are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, like fun, comic book, technology, and then the other like my writing, design, and print. And all of those, I would say, go under the umbrella of being a dad. Those are all of my favorite things to do outside of work.
