Wonolo

Wonolo

Hello everyone! My name is Maxwell and I’m a Wonoloer in Philadelphia. I started working Wonolo jobs back in February 2016 when I started to fulfill my dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

To give a little background about myself, I experienced a major trauma when my mother left me at a police station when I was 8 years old. For years, I suffered from low self-esteem and built walls up to never allow anyone in.

I’ve been able to break through those barriers and now I want to share what I’ve learned with inner-city children and teenagers who experience similar life traumas. My organization, It Works For Me, is designed to empower its participants to recognize how much power and control they have over their lives and destiny through their actions, attitudes, and behaviors. I currently work in 4 schools but will be expanding to 11 by this coming fall.

Wonolo has helped me create flexibility to work in my organization and still maintain my lifestyle. I couldn’t have a regular 9-5 job and focus on my passion, which is helping these kids every day.

Soon, I’ll have to move on from Wonolo to focus on my entrepreneurship full time, but I will always be grateful for finding Wonolo when I did and how it’s helped me during this time. I always tell people to put their best out into the world every day. You never know what opportunities lie in store for you. Personally, I’ve received 6 different job offers from Wonolo customers. Obviously, that’s not what I want right now, but it makes me proud to see that my character and work ethic show, and people want me on their team.

If you’re someone picking up jobs on the Wonolo app, remember that you have a unique opportunity and you can control your actions. Show how great you can be and people will notice!
